If you believe the story of Adam and Eve, their sense of shame over being naked - that sense that something is wrong with me - came from a break in their relationship to God. Their "sin" was their disregard a spiritual need.
I've used this whenever JWs show me tracts about "Paradise Earth". If sin is eliminated in the "new system of things" and paradise is restored to Eden like condition, why does the WT show clothing on everyone? There should be no shame in being naked before God. So far I’ve yet to hear an answer.
one issue i have with declaring the bible an entirely inspired work from god is the bit in the ot about killing girls who were "proven"to not be virgins on their wedding night-by stoning them.
the absence of blood on the sheet or cloak was considered entirely valid proof that they were immoral and so they were to be stoned.. that is scientifically invalid.
not all girls bleed when they lose their virginity-in fact, the more skilled the partner, the less likely that they will bleed at all.
Could you tell us which passage in the bible you're refering to.

atheists are people who are "a-" (without) "theism" (a belief in god).
they are not "athiests"; they are not "athier" than everyone else, nor is "athy" a word.. .
this isn't aimed at anyone in particular, but it's a mistake i see every day on here and i thought it might be nice to have a topic we can bump just to periodically remind people of the proper spelling, especially since they are sometimes referring to their very own beliefs.
If they are a people without a belief in God, why don't they find a way to define themselves without using God/theist in their name?

this is not meant to be a slag off the bible thread.. i had a question asked me the other day and it was: 'do you live by anything from the bible?'.
i had to think about that one because i was force grown in the filthy, disgusting cult of the paedophile loving watchtower(r).. you know what?
i really don't know if i just naturally am a great bloke or if any 'nice' bits in the bible influenced me......or has western culture been influenced by the bible for good and bad?.

The christian gospel is dehumanising; you are not born in sin and need apologise to nobody for being human.
Thanks for posting that. It confirms my original observation about your "christian" past and the "other" gospel you recieved. As a christian (not JW) for over 45 years now, I have never felt the need to apologise to anybody for being human. Jesus took that need away.

I'm not sure what you mean by your question, if by the bible you mean living by the "Law" or the commands, the answer is NO. The "law was never meant to impart life or to save anyone, it was meant to bring death.
Today I am finding life and freedom in faith in what Jesus has done. Jesus did not live by the Law.

Humans have always Resisted God's provision for his people, even in Judaism. See 1 Sam 8 for example.

However nothing (or no person) in the NT or OT "blocks" God's will or is able to "block" Christ's return.
